Chemistry Molecule Matter and Change

Chemical law - Chemical Laws are the Laws of nature relevant to chemistry. The most fundamental concept in chemistry is the law of conservation of mass, which states that there is no detectable change in the quantity of matter during an ordinary chemical reaction.

Strain (chemistry) - In chemistry a molecule experiences strain when in a chemical conformation there exist unfavorable bond angles or bond distances. Strain energy is released when the molecule can relax to a conformation with less strain or when the molecule interacts in a suitable chemical reaction.

Coulometry - Coulometry is the name given to a group of electroanalytical chemistry techniques that determine the amount of matter transformed during an electrolysis reaction by measuring the amount of electricity (in coulombs) consumed or produced. The technique is applicable to redox reactions, which are reactions in which electrons are transferred from one molecule to another.

Bond energy - In chemistry, bond energy (E) is a measure of bond strength in a chemical bond. For example the carbon - hydrogen bond energy in methane E(C-H) is the enthalpy change involved with breaking up one molecule of methane in a carbon atom and 4 hydrogen radicals divided by 4.
